In March 2024 I started Ziggy’s Lament. It was inspired, in part, by the frankly herculean list-building of my friend Ziggy (Stephen to his mum) who, with the another Steve-friend, compiles and shares a top hundred tracks of the year. Just for the fun of it – their lists don’t appear anywhere!
My ongoing version of this are, I guess, my regular Listening2… playlists I’ve been publishing here on Ziggy’s Lament. In that series, I’ve posted tracks I’ve been ‘listening to’, which in turn, leads on to albums, live performances, films and session films.
This two-part catalogue/playlist, however, is a record of all the tracks and films I’ve posted this year – in total: 260! You can work through it systematically, or just click the links randomly. Either way you’ll find some brilliant music and maybe fall down the rabbit holes I and my guest writers have been lovingly digging for you through last year.
